Eligible WA construction workers and employers may be able to reduce training costs through the WA Government’s Construction Training Fund (CTF). The CTF offers rebates on approved short courses and employer grants that help offset apprentice/trainee training costs. Check eligibility and how to claim via the CTF’s site.

Course descriptions

4WD training equips drivers with the skills and confidence to safely navigate diverse terrains

— from soft coastal sands to rugged outback tracks. Participants learn essential techniques

such as vehicle recovery, terrain assessment, and safe driving practices. Whether for work or recreation,

4WD training helps drivers travel responsibly, protect the environment, and handle real-world off-road challenges with confidence.

Candidate requirements

  • Must hold a class C drivers licence
  • You must be 18 years of age or over
  • Read and write English to a basic level

When enrolling for our courses you have to complete the Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment. If you have any concerns about your LLN skills, we encourage you to contact us before enrolling.

If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to: compliance@deserttocoast.com.au

This unit involves operating vehicles in workplace environments. Learners should have the physical coordination and alertness required for safe vehicle operation.

The team down at Desert to Coast were fantastic throughout the whole process. The front office staff and trainers were friendly, supportive and deliver an excellent program. Excellent quality!
Excellent quality driving instructors, after only a few lessons I was able to go from 'Novice' to 'Qualified' on my first attempt. Steven was very knowledgeable and authentic in his approach, would definitely recommend giving them a go!
