Course Description
At Desert to Coast Training and Assessing, we provide Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments to help employers and workers confirm current skills and meet site and industry requirements.
A VOC is an assessment only process – it verifies that an individual has the necessary knowledge and practical ability to safely and competently operate equipment or perform specific workplace tasks. It is not a training course, but if gaps are identified, we can recommend refresher training before re-assessment.
Why is a VOC needed?
Employers across mining, construction, oil & gas, transport, and civil works often require VOCs to:
- Prove worker competency before accessing site.
- Meet WorkSafe WA and company compliance standards.
- Ensure skills remain current after time away from equipment.
- Confirm contractors hold valid and up-to-date skills.
What we offer
Desert to Coast Training and Assessing can conduct VOCs across a wide range of plant, machinery, high-risk work licences, and industry skills. Our assessments are carried out by experienced trainers and assessors who understand the requirements of working across Western Australia’s diverse environments – from the Pilbara through to coastal operations.
Outcome
On successful completion, candidates will receive a VOC assessment record which can be provided to employers as formal evidence of competency.
If you’re an employer needing to verify your workforce’s skills, or an individual wanting to ensure you’re site-ready, Desert to Coast Training and Assessing is here to help.
