Heavy Combination (HC) Training and Licensing


Course Summary
TLIC3005 Drive Heavy Combination Vehicle.
It includes maintaining consistent and efficient control of all vehicle functions, monitoring and responding to traffic and road conditions, managing vehicle performance and condition, and safely carrying out coupling and uncoupling of trailers. It also requires the ability to identify and manage hazardous situations appropriately.
Driving activities are performed with limited supervision, with the operator responsible for exercising duty of care for themselves and others while achieving prescribed operational outcomes.
A prime mover to which is attached a single semi-trailer plus any unladen converter dolly, or rigid motor vehicle attached to trailer that has a gross vehicle mass (GVM) greater than 9 tonnes plus any unladen converter dolly.
Candidate requirements
- Must have good verbal and written comprehension of the English language
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Must have good general health and fitness for practicals (eg. physical work)
- C (Car) class licence for at least three (3) years; and
MR (Medium Rigid) class licence or HR (Heavy Rigid) class licence for at least one (1) year.
When enrolling for our courses you have to complete the Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment. If you have any concerns about your LLN skills, we encourage you to contact us before enrolling.
